Homicide suspect sought by police in Mount Vernon area
Update: On the late afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 27, FCPD officers again were dispatched to a home on Millbrook Place where the wanted man was allegedly hiding in the basement. Colonial Avenue at Gibbs Street was closed off during the police investigation. Detectives from FCPD's Special Operations Division searched the home but did not find him.
Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) officers conducted a manhunt the afternoon of Nov. 3 for a wanted person reported to be in the basement of a home in the 8700 block of Millbrook Place.
An FCPD officer parked in the Mount Zephyr neighborhood of Alexandria told On the MoVe that they were actively searching for a bald, black male with goatee wearing a long black jacket and brown pants. The officer said the man was a homicide suspect but was unable to provide further information.
A subsequent Tweet from FCPD identified the man as Kyjuan Omar Braxton Trott and said the suspect was not found in the home that was searched.
Trott, a 43-year-old resident of Mount Vernon, is considered a suspect in the Oct. 2 fatal shooting of a man on St. Gregorys Lane in Alexandria.
According to community residents on Nextdoor, a couple of local schools were temporarily on lockdown during the manhunt.
FCPD is warning the public that anyone who sees Trott should not approach him but instead call 911.
