Chalkboard Wings & BBQ to hold grand opening on April 2

The neighborhood restaurant and bar features house-made sauces and rubs, as well as craft beers and cocktails.

Chalkboard Wings & BBQ, the new neighborhood restaurant and bar located in the former Wing Stop space at Cooper Center, has installed its new signage and is gearing up for its grand opening on Saturday, April 2.

The general public is invited to stop by the restaurant anytime between the 5 p.m. ribbon cutting and midnight to enjoy food and drink from the restaurant’s menu, which features signature sauces and dry rubs that are house-made from regionally sourced ingredients. Craft cocktails and beer will be available, thanks to Chalkboard’s newly acquired liquor license.

Owner and managing partner C.J. Cross said he wants Chalkboard to be a family-friendly neighborhood hangout where patrons can watch a game or enjoy “mostly scratch” foods.

“Every place I open, I want to be a place that I’d want to go to,” he said.

Chalkboard Wings & BBQ is located at 8723-C Cooper Road in Alexandria.
